January 25, 2022 is the 10th anniversary of the official opening of the MUB Euroregional Pharmacy Center (ECF). “It is the most modern pharmaceutical incubator in this part of Europe. The uniqueness of this building lies in the fact that the best teaching and research base is organized here, which, by definition, will be implemented in the economy” said prof. Jacek Nikliński, the then Rector of the Medical University. Prof. Lech Chyczewski - the then Editor-in-Chief of Medyk Białostocki Magazine in 2017 recalls: “Currently, the Faculty of Pharmacy has acquired not only the A + category, but also a new, beautifully located, magnificent building, where the faculty authorities and several significant scientific institutions have found place. I witnessed the unimaginable efforts of Rector Jan Górski, Rector Jacek Nikliński and, above all, a wonderful tandem: prof. Elżbieta Skrzydlewska with prof. Jerzy Pałka, who started the construction of this building proudly called "Euroregionalne Centrum Farmacji" and led to a happy ending.
The author of the construction design was Jan Krzysztof Hahn, KARST Sp. z o.o, and the contractor is Budimex Company. The Centre is the main seat of the Faculty of Pharmacy with the Division of Laboratory Medicine. Due to the proximity of the Planty Park, the architecture of the building has a glass façade reflecting the historic tree stand.
The genesis of the investment goes back to 2006, when the University submitted an initial application for funding under the Operational Program Development of Eastern Poland 2007-2013, Priority I Modern economy, Measure I.1 University infrastructure. In July 2009, an agreement was signed for co-financing the project entitled "Creation of a modern teaching and research base for the needs of the Euroregional Pharmacy Center of the Medical University of Bialystok" and the cornerstone was laid on October 20, 2009.
The Euroregional Pharmacy Center is part of the Faculty of Pharmacy with the Division of Laboratory Medicine at the Medical University of Bialystok. Currently, the Faculty consists of 29 organizational units, including 28 departments and 1 independent laboratory, employing over 135 academic teachers, including 24 professors and 35 habilitated doctors
The following courses are offered to students at the Faculty:
- Medical Analytics (since 1977),
- Pharmacy (since 1987),
- Cosmetology (since 2009).
All the courses have been accredited by the Polish Accreditation Committee.
Diplomas at the Faculty were obtained by 1794 graduates of Medical Analytics, 1906 of Pharmacy and 1000 of Cosmetology. In the academic year 2021/2022, almost 1,300 people began and continued education at the Faculty.
