A student/PhD student/graduate can go for an exchange for a traineeship to any foreign institution that is related to the participant’s course of study and is located in a member country or a country associated with the Erasmus+ Programme, other than the participant’s country of residence during their studies. MUB may or may not have a bilateral agreement signed with such institution. A candidate for an exchange should find an institution by themselves and should obtain an invitation for a traineeship (Letter of Intent). Traineeships may take place in foreign hospitals, companies, research facilities, non-profit organisations and other institutions. It is prohibited to undertake a traineeship in the EU institutions and institutions responsible for handling EU programmes. If a traineeship takes place in a higher education institution, such institution has to hold a valid Erasmus card (ECHE). The range of a traineeship has to be concurrent with the participant’s course of study.
There are both long-term (from 2 to 12 months) and short-term (from 5 to 30 days) traineeship mobilities offered. However, for a short-term mobility, it is obligatory to complete an additional online part. It is possible to travel during every year of studies, except for the first year (applies to every mobility) and the sixth year (applies to mobility for studies).
During the sixth year you can apply for an a voluntary traineeship as an MUB’s graduate.
The average grade required is 3,5 at the minimum and we do not expect any exceptions.
While calculating the average grade, we consider the average grade during the cycle of studies.
Average grade is calculated for the relevant cycle of studies, with consideration of every completed term, including the term preceding the application. For example, if you’re submitting the documents during the spring recruitment period, your entire cycle of studies, including the last term completed (i.e. the summer term of the previous academic year), should be taken into account.
Certificate of average grade is issued by a respective Dean’s office.
The recruitment period begins on February 1st and ends on March 1st each year. During this period the application documents can be submitted.
The recruitment process is conducted by the Erasmus+ Programme Commission consisting of:
Every student will be notified about the recruitment outcomes via an e-mail. The Erasmus+ Office will send an official message about the outcome (qualified, not qualified or on the waiting list) to the e-mail address provided by the candidate in the application form.
The final amount of the scholarship for the entire mobility period will be determined by multiplying the number of agreed days/months by the monthly rate for the relevant country. In case of incomplete months, the scholarship will be determined by multiplying the number of days from the incomplete month by the 1/30 of the monthly rate.
“Green travel” means travelling with the use of sustainable, low-emission means of transport, such as bus, train or car-pooling. If the requirements to "green travel" are met, students/doctoral students are entitled to receive individual support for living expenses for up to 6 additional days. As part of this allowance, the student is entitled to an increased lump sum for travel expenses. In order to apply for such an allowance, relevant statements must be submitted before and after the mobility (Appendix no. 11 and no. 12 to Regulations on the outgoing mobilities).
The “participants with fewer opportunities” criterion applies to:
Participants with “fewer opportunities” will receive:
Example
Type of mobility: long-term traineeship
Date: 01.07.2026 – 02.09.2026
Number of days: 62 + 2 travel days
Destination: Porto, Portugal
Means of transport: Plane
Monthly scholarship: 820 EUR
Travel costs: 395 EUR
Calculation:
64 days (2 months and 4 days) – duration of the mobility
(2 months x 820 EUR) + (4 days x 27,33 EUR)+ 395 EUR = 1640 EUR
+109 EUR+ 395 EUR= 2 144 EUR
The scholarship shall be awarded to each candidate, who will submit their Learning Agreement accepted by the MUB’s Institutional Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Programme and by the person responsible designated by the receiving institution, sign the Grant Agreement and complete the language placement test in the OLS system (the link will be sent automatically). It is also possible to go for an Erasmus+ exchange with zero scholarship, e.g. in the case of consumption of the funds allocated for students’ mobilities for traineeships.
No. The scholarship is paid in two instalments – 70% of the whole amount before the start of the mobility and the remaining 30% after the mobility, when the formalities are completed and the mobility finalised.
The scholarship or its part shall not be returned if a participant doesn’t respect the terms of agreement. If a participant ends the mobility earlier than agreed but the other conditions of the agreement are met, a refund of the part of the scholarship (proportional to the shortened stay) shall be required. A refund won’t be required only if a participant cannot finish the actions planned, described in the Appendix, due to “force majeure”; in that case the participant will be entitled to receive the amount of scholarship proportional to the real duration of stay at the minimum. The remaining part of the scholarship will have to be returned. Each case is considered individually. The decision to recognize “force majeure” is made at the request of the university by the National Agency for the Erasmus+ Programme.
Concerning mobility for traineeships: seeing as the start date of the mobility period is the first day the traineeship at the receiving institution, and the end date is the final day of the traineeship.
The scholarship include the days intended for the travel, but does not include stays outside the mobility days. What is more, in case of a short-term mobility, it is obligatory to complete an additional online part. Participants are not entitled to receive the scholarship for the online part. The online part cannot fall on travel days or days spent on traineeship at the host institution.
A mobility for traineeship is possible from the second to the fifth year of studies and during the sixth year as a graduate.
Yes. The mobility capital for students enrolled on a uniform master’s studies is equal to 24 months. You have already been on a mobility that lasted a full academic year so the remaining amount of time that you may use is 12 – 13 months (depending on the length of the academic year at the receiving institution).
We ask you to indicate a bank account maintained in EURO, due to the fact that the scholarship is paid in that currency.
It is possible to indicate a multi-currency account, such as REVOLUT.
Yes. The possibility exists but its dependent on the financial capital and vacant places availability, and on the approval provided by the Erasmus+ Programme Commission. If it is possible to extend the mobility, the participant must submit the documents (Appendix no. 13 to the Regulations on the outgoing mobilities) and gather the required signatures. An approval shall be granted only where justified.
